Is-This-1942-Penny-An-Error?

Came across this forum recently and I'm so excited to get some help figuring out if any of my coins are special. This one is a 1942 Wheat penny that I thought might be an error. I know it does have a fair amount of damage to it but don't know if that is what has caused the mint mark to look like this or if it is an error. Also the T in United and ES in states on the reverse are a bit peculiar. Thanks so much for your help! I'll probably be posting quite a bit now that I've found this.

Just looks like wear and damage. The area of the Mint Mark seems to have taken a hit. PMD (Post Minting Damage.)

Remember, it is only an error if it happens during the striking of the coin,
anything that happens after that is damage, no matter how.

A coin with much circulation wear and environmentally-caused discoloration. The feature where a mint mark might have been placed looks like it took a hit. Copper is a relatively soft metal and can be moved/reshaped when hit. Not that it matters, but the coin's obverse may have been cleaned long ago.

Actually is worth 3 cent for metal. Even if was an error coin at this stage is just metal refurbish.
