Also the base of the p on the mintmark looks funny.

Whatever filled the die, was probably not just grease, but grease and fiber with grit mixed together. Note the not just the devices were blocked, but the surface as well. Possible? Maybe a filled letters issue? Or a filled incuse letters from a previous coin? We may never know.
