Note the normal size of the ear is there, but flatten by either coin contact or Machine Doubling. Not a DDO. If there were a DDO, the affected area of showing the hub doubling would be raised on either the fields or on the bust.

@Coop Thanks Coop! So can you explain to me the difference between my coin and this 1997 coin that makes one a DD and the other a MD.
