coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 04/20/2021 10:35 am It happens, even on proof coins: Just noticed on the last image, the MD was what I chose it as an image. But note the shadow affect on the left sides of the devices. That is called "flat field doubling". It happens on proof coins what have Machine Doubling on the first strike. Then the second strike flattens some of the previous strike and added more Machine Doubling on the second strike.
