I purchased 8 rolls of new 2008 Canada cents and found 12 coins that contained die chips in the word "REGINA" in the letters "R" and "G". Anyone else come across this?

Are both of these die chips? They look quite different, with the left being amorphous and the right being pretty geometric.

Both of those marks are interesting, especially the one on the right. Do dies normally wear this way?

Update: I showed this to a guy who looks at a lot of cents, and they look like die chips to him.

I'm really new to this...Are they considered quite common or would this be a variety?

I think that chips this size are fairly common.

I think they are very common also, while on the subject why would this not be considered a die gouge, leaving a chip in the coin?

I thought the mark on the "R" was a bit unusual, but I was informed that it's a typical die chip. I don't see enough to know the difference.

They must be very common, in fact, I found about eighty cents with identical marks in the rolls I searched.
