I've read and tried to educate myself as I search for various coins, particularly a couple of classic Commemoratives I want.

Has anyone seen any information or have an opinion as to general production quality of classic Commemoratives such as the Texas silver half, from the Denver, Philadelphia and San Francisco mints? Did one or two mints stand out for better or lesser quality?

My research hasn't found any commentary regarding this. I continue to be of the opinion " buy the coin, not the mint".

Thanks for your opinions.

I can't offer much, but Coinfacts offers a bit of commentary about most issues, including luster, strike, and eye appeal: https://www.PCGS.com/coinfacts/cate...892-1954/789

My experience over the years suggests that there is no absolute "Best Quality" mint vs. "Lowest Quality" mint when it comes to the coins of the classic US commemorative series. Individual issues from each of the mints need to be examined to find the best-struck examples.

I will say, however, I have found that the San Francisco Branch Mint strikes are often quite good.
