Thanks New1954. I figured it must of been a picture error. Edit: That was quick. I let the RCM about their mistake and what do you know they listened and changed the picture.

I'm a Masters Club Silver member, and I have to say that I'm highly disappointed that the $50 Avro Arrow coin was sold out before it was even made available to Silver members. I'm really beginning to wonder what the RCM is thinking these days.

@Rammble
Welcome to coincommunity.
With only 1000 coins minted this was a quick sellout. Sold out instantly. You can tune in to the coin show on TSC at 7pm wednesday night and with a little luck it will be selling there. I missed this coin as well as I'm at the Gold level after being a Prestige level for many years.

@jimper Thanks very much. I was also a prestige member for quite a while but have found the RCM's offerings lacking for the past few years, so my buying activity dropped substantially. This is the first RCM coin in years that I've been excited about and I'm really ticked that I didn't even get a chance to buy it. I suspect the price will skyrocket on the secondary market. For non-gold or platinum coins, if RCM is going to do a mintage that low, they should just make it a top-tier Masters Club exclusive so expectations are set. It's ridiculous that they advertise it in their general catalogs and promotional emails when it's already sold out.

@rammble
I fell from the over $10,000.00 spend group to now being just Prestige (over $4500.00) spend and I was lucky enough to get one of the 5 ounce Avro Arrow coins early morning Wednesday with my rep via email release; otherwise I would have been out of luck myself. CC&C the same thing showing out of stock but dealers will probably have either today or tomorrow and as @jimper says, stay tuned to the Coin Show with Bromberg and you may get lucky.

It appears the No. 1 question here is why a Mintage of only 1000? The RCM could easily have minted 4000 Avro Arrow coins and still had a sell out and had a lot of happy customers. This is ONE HOT ITEM Would have looked great in my Man Cave with the rest of my Avro Arrow Collection

Love that picture with all the cars of the staff in behind 201. Sorry I missed out on this coin as well.

@commens
Thanks for the generous comments...
First picture of the Stamp I purchased from a framing shop which led to an idea for the second frame.
This was my own design, 13 coins in the frame....12 are from the Canadian Aviation Series II set issued from 1995-99 that includes the Avro Arrow $20 coin. The 13th coin in the picture I added the Lancaster Bomber from the Canadian Aviation Series 1 1990-94 set to balance the distribution of the coins in the frame. Add a couple of iconic photos of the Arrow and its the center piece of my Man Cave....
Now to only add the 2021 5 oz. Avro Arrow would REALLY make my day.....

Quote:It appears the No. 1 question here is why a Mintage of only 1000? The RCM could easily have minted 4000 Avro Arrow coins and still had a sell out and had a lot of happy customers. Because it is a 5 oz coin. 5 oz coins are usually between 750 and 1500 coins minted. 5 oz coins sell at a higher price point and if they made 4000 selling of them at $569 a pop there is no way they going to sell all of them. That is why they made a 1 oz version of the Avro Arrow coin at 10,000 mintage so it is more affordable for most collectors. Higher mintage are reserved for 1 oz coins.

Promotions are done well in advanced of release; they don't know which coins well sell out.
