This really appears to be a proof reverse. But as far as I know there aren't any proof reverse errors on this year. I have found multiple proof reverses on 1970 dimes so I've gotten a decent eye for them and just needed someone else's opinion on this. Appreciate any response I can get.

Just did a bit more research on this, and it appears that this is how the reverse is supposed to look. But I would really appreciate that if anybody could confirm. Thank you

what do you think you see here?
the reverse does not have a mirror finish, its worn way down (note the lack of detail in the torch and leaves) and it looks like any old dime that has had a long life of being bashed into other coins.

Here is a proof dime (actually a proof coin not an error) reverse (bad pic, its through the mint's original cellophane wrapper) for comparison. Its hard to see the mirrored back surface through the wrapper but the details of the torch alone show what it should be for a proof...

The 1968-70 dimes had an error where they were struck with extra detail due to a die mixup which led to some of them having an incorrect reverse with extra detail on the flame. But I now know that any dimes from 1971-1980 have the extra detail on the flame, I was just misinformed before and assumed it was something before I researched it. It's nothing

Certainly not a proof in any event.

I figured that's what you meant. Good job answering your own question.
