Thank you Numisma! I hadn't realized how many counterfeits are out there until I started browsing this forum! I am somewhat new to collecting, and am now brushing up on my Counterfeit Detection skills! It came to my attention while looking at braided hair Half Cents, and flying eagles after seeing that there are multiple fakes of the two coins I mentioned, but fakes of virtually every coin ever minted.
-And almost all are on ebay being sold.. kind of disheartening

Yep definitely a fake can't believe people is bidding on it but if they don't list it as a fake people will buy them unknowingly that they are not real. Also can't believe people would buy them listed as fake they are worth nothing and already bidded that high that's crazy.

Here is another. Not sure, but comparing the denticles, they look very different.

The Half Dime looks fine to me; it's just worn and scratched. Many coins from that era can have variable features (note the size difference of the fives in "5 C.") since numbers and letters were punched into the dies by hand.

It's absolutely disheartening. The counterfeiters are getting better and better, so we have to get better and better at spotting them. That just makes it harder for new collectors who want to buy these coins but don't have the experience to avoid getting screwed. I've seen enough real coins to recognize ones like this that are churned out by the millions in Chinese factories with no consequences, but they're capable of making awfully good ones too.
