Hi all. Are there sources on doubled dies for Canadian cents. I believe I found one in a bank roll from the US. Also, does anyone know of one on the obverse from 1971?

Thanks, Mike

If you can post a closeup pic of the area on the coin, I'll give an opinion.

Thank you, I will post one tomorrow. I don't have my camera. I can tell you there is pretty major doubling on her forehead and nose. Kinda looks like the 1984 double ear Lincoln doubling. Also on most of the letters and the "dots" that circle the perimeter of the coin.
Ring any bells?

Here are some photos. I could only get so close with my camera. When I get an attachment for my microscope, I'll post closer photos. Also, notice the doubling in the bust and lips.

Thanks for looking, Mike

Hi,
I think your cent is MD.
Compare the noses on QE II to the documented DDO below. See how the forehead and nose look "cut into" vs. a secondary impression in the die?

I think you're right. What's going on with the rim. Is that from the MD also? Thanks for the pic. That's a great site. I have world coins to go through, it will help.

Hi Mike, I do believe that is Machine Doubling, and Die Deterioration... I think.
No expert of course, But you did ask for opinions. ;)

The doubled rim could be due to a misaligned die--not sure.
