Niesha, it looks like your coins might be common modern coins that are often sold on ebay. You might be able to figure out the value of most of them from what is written on the holder, and then use this information to search on ebay, making sure to look for the prices of items that have actually sold.
In the case of your first coin, the information on the holder is incorrect (maybe your great grandpa was frugal and recycled that holder?). Do this:
- open up ebay, and on the upper right corner click on the word "Advanced" next to the blue "Search" button.
- next, in the box under "Enter keywords..." type in "Great Britain 1963 penny" which is the correct identity of the coin
- next, in the Category box click on "Coins and Paper Money"
- in the next section, be sure to check "Sold items"
Then click on "Search" and you will see a list of coins similar to yours that have sold recently. Find a few that are in about the same cndition as yours, and you will know the value of your.
And of course, be sure to use your imagination for how he obtained those coins. Was he a world traveller? Did he get them from friends who had travelled?
Enjoy!
