PCGS - Belgium is an often-underappreciated country in terms of numismatics and collecting. This is especially true when looking at the great value offered by their gold issues, usually trading at bullion levels. These pieces offer tremendous history, much variety, and are easily obtainable and affordable. While gold coinage from King Leopold I is available, most pieces fall out of the bullion-value range. It is the coinage of King Leopold II and Albert that are available at prices near their spot value and are often considered bullion coinage.

The atrocities that occurred in Congo led to the term "crimes against humanity" being coined to describe the practices that during under this colonization.
