I really am NOT an elite collector, but rather enthusiastic, and avid. I have enjoyed reading the comments and obvious expertise of many of the contributors. I have been trying to "search" my coins for some of the errors, and variations that I have been reading about, starting with Lincoln cents. is there any source for advice on identifying, organizing, or generally "approaching" this - which is apparently a very intricate, and complex undertaking. thanks.

coppercoins.com and the new cherrypicker's book are great.

Also "Looking Through Lincoln Cents" (2nd edition) by Charles Daughtrey (the gentlemen from coppercoin.com) is very nice with a spiral binding for fast and comprehensive reference.
