I have not heard of this at all. A new round of quarter dollars...

http://www.coinnews.net/coin-legisl...act-of-2008/

I like this:

`(F) PROHIBITION ON CERTAIN REPRESENTATIONS- No head and shoulders portrait or bust of any person, living or dead, no portrait of a living person, and no outline or map of a State may be included in the design on the reverse of any quarter dollar under this subsection.

Oh, its not just 10 years:

`(i) DETERMINATION- The Secretary may make a determination ... to continue the period of issuance until a second national site in each State, the District of Columbia, and each territory referred to in this subsection has been honored with a design on a quarter dollar.

I don't like this:

`(8) DESIGNS AFTER END OF PROGRAM- Upon the completion of the coin program under this subsection, the design on ... the reverse of the quarter dollar shall contain an image of General Washington crossing the Delaware River prior to the Battle of Trenton

Holy smoke, didn't they have to suspend the bullion programs this year because they ran out of supply....

`(1) IN GENERAL- The Secretary shall strike and make available for sale such number of bullion coins as the Secretary determines to be appropriate that are exact duplicates of the quarter dollars issued under subsection (t), each of which shall-

`(A) have a diameter of 3.0 inches and weigh 5.0 ounces;
`(B) contain .999 fine silver;

"Yes, son, these zip code commemorative dimes are neat. But back in my day you could look at the design on a coin and know right away what denomination it was. Each coin of that denomination had the same design on it! Yes, all year long!"

Bring back the eagle, ye traitors! Or change the design all together.

Washington already crossed the Delaware River.....10 YEARS ago on the New Jersey quarter! Have these people been under a rock all this time?

Next up: State Quarters featuring each of the 3,141 counties (our county-equivalents) in the US. Just try collecting them ALL. Just kidding.

US Mint and Congress will keep coming up with ways to extend the Statehood Quarter program, which has been widely successful and keeps people from spening the quarters.

Well, the Mint will move to China soon. Seeing as how they own so much of our debt anyway....and we're many Trillions in debt already....nearly collapsing economy.....Ford, Chevy, etc.....millions and millions of Americans have lost or will lose their jobs......things could get MUCH worse than the Depression.....bread lines.....soup kitchens......government cheese.....homeless shelters 10,000 times beyond capacity nationwide. Insead of 5% or 6% unemployment rates, it could be 60% or 70% unemployment ! Imagine the next generation or two going through those kinds of things !...The U.S. could be heading down a scarry road. Yeah China will be more than the emerging superpower, they will be the most powerful superpower in the history of Earth !.....
Soon "print/mint more money" won't work either. If people aren't working they won't be buying and if they're not buying........there goes Capitolism !

Oops.......did I get on a rant a little off subject there !.....

I hope not... I love America. What's a country where the people can't defend themselves?

Me too friend !.....and I do have faith that none of those things will come to pass with that severity !.....
I hope and pray that our new immigrants, legal or otherwise, and first generation Americans, have an equal amount of love and passion for our Country as well. Because as their numbers are ever increasing, it will be more and more in their hands too. Our identity is changing there's no doubt about that. The "Great Melting Pot Experiment" is a work in progress still after all......
