I found this when going through some dealers foreign coins, and have always been curious about if anyone's seen or knows something about this? It is clearly Asian, and looks like something you would see on a pilot, but I have no clue beyond that, so I'll see what others think here.

It's neat but I don't have any idea on what it is. Probably asian though. I can agree with that.

@mrw, one thing that strikes me is that I actually don't think that this was a pendant, despite the loop. Rather, the side-position of the loop and the twisted metal directly opposite which might have one time been a second loop suggest to me that this is a metal tag of some sort. As to the lettering and iconography, sorry but I can't help.
