Hi. I am reaching out to the community to ask if anyone thinks this coin is worth grading? I am not a collector yet I have inherited a lot of coins from my grandparents. It is shiny in appearance and seems to possibly be uncirculated but I am only looking at it with my naked eye as well as a blown up photo taken with my cell phone. Thank you in advance for your comments of expertise. Thank you!

Thank you! I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong in uploading the photos. I'm so inept when it comes to technology! :)

Now, if you can just enlarge the obverse pic to the size of your reverse pic, well be set to go...

I have a total of 3 Indian Head Quarter Eagles all in the same shiny gold without any kind of damage to the naked eye. They consist of the 1914 shown above as well as a 1913 and 1928. I also have an additional four Indian Head Quarter Eagles that are gold prong set as a pair of cuff links. Two are a 1909 and 1912 and the additional two coins are set where I cannot see enough through the settings. Thank you and I apologize for being technically challenged.

Thank you Oldfordman! I am assuming that it's not worth sending them in for grading. I appreciate your expertise. Thank you kindly!

Much better than AU-55. Can you enlarge this obverse pic?

I don't see any wear on this 1914D Quarter Eagle so it should grade MS and worth well over $400 and perhaps a lot more if it grades MS63 or better. I think it is worth sending it for grading. The ring around the edge bothers me though. These have thin rims and the mint mark and lettering are often right at the rim but could this possibly be a deteriorated die or the striking pressure that caused these rings? Nice coin!

Thank you everyone! I hadn't noticed the "rings" until it was mentioned by MisterT. I do see what he's saying in the enlargement of my photo.
