Why do some of the pennies that I have make that long ping test sound that silver makes?

Are you dropping English pennies - or Lincoln Cents?

The 95% copper Lincoln cents, 1982 and before, make the rich ping.

Why are you "ping testing" pennies? What are you looking for?

Is it a shiny copper color? That's mint luster. If it's a silvery color, it's probably been plated.

It's not a shiny copper cooor and the ping sound is loud like how a silver coin will sound like it's not a dud sound and no it's like a tarnished copper color

As others have said above, zinc has a clunkier sound and copper has a nicer ring. You have a 100% genuine 1976D cent.
