Hey, I found this in a roll hunt, anyone know how this kind of toning could happen?

I hope the pictures are good enough; in hand, the coin is a bit darker (flash) and the colouration is more obvious.

I would say you have a very thin and even layer of verdigis on your copper cent.
VERDIGRIS
Pronunciation [vur-di-grees]
a green or bluish patina formed on copper, brass, or bronze surfaces exposed to the atmosphere for long periods of time, consisting principally of basic copper sulfate.

Yeah, I was wondering if it was verdigris, but the other coins I've seen with it looked quite different (darker green, and kind of like a greenish rust).

Also, SPOTS?

Maybe this is from being stored near some paper that had sulpher in it?
Maybe an envelope? Who knows?
I bet it was undisturbed in some environment for an extended stay.
Actually, I don't like verdigris at all except I do like your coin with what appears to be just the right amount of it, if that is what I think it is.
I do like this for some reason. I would keep it in an airtight or cointain from here on out if it were mine.

Yeah, I need to get some of those, and 2x2s, and the binder casings to put them in.... *sigh* next coin meeting is the 7th, either I'll get some there or find out where the coin shops are around here.

I have no problem with 2x2's, it's the staples and the paper dust they cause when punching through the 2x2's that can cause problems. I have read and believe that microscopic particles of paper can be attracted to the surface of a coin when a staple is pushed through a 2x2.
For extremely super nice coins that I want to stay that way, I use a cointain or airtite and can then blast away with a stapler. Ordinary collectible coins, well, I don't see the need to put all that much supply money into them. A 2x2 is good enough.

When you look at the obverse too long, you begin to notice some odd additional shapes to the right of the Queen's portrait.. is this a consequence of the toning?
