Figman..... for what you are trying to validate, you need to start from 1982 on up & understand the differences in metal. We are not talking about all copper planchets here. This is a totally.............TOTALLY........ different ball game. This is especially true for earlier zincolns, that are effected as the one posted. Please research first. Very, very, very, very......common. As CC offered. I'll actually send you several of these for free. If you like, then you can have them all slabbed/sold & show us all that we,re wrong.

You can keep them, I'm not into errors . For some reason this keeps coming back to "monetary", or value. STUDY ? I think you're confused about what I'm stating, so let me say this with no sugar .

The reason this subject "errors" has the least amount of action on this forum, because it's become the most complicated. It appears the Numismatic Society is bent on writing more books, making this subject popular for monetary reasons, so bully for them. If you don't believe me just go to the book store and look on the shelves. Hasn't Capitalism made are country much stronger and better to live in the past 40 years? Make this hobby more complicated and it will cease to be a hobby.

At this time..... I don't know. We're sort of in a recession with unemployment being as high as it is, businesses are going under & larger corporations are losing more & more. No one wants to buy frugally as they used too. Could account for the increase of most of us searching hoards, rolls, etc, etc & finding more varieties than before. A lot of people are emptying those jars to make ends meet. Recently capitalism has made us as a country, financially weaker. I'm sorry...... have to disagree.
Though on a good note, keeps my hobby (collecting/searching) pretty alive.
