Found this in a lot of tokens. Apparently B.A. Stevens made Billiard tables. Does anyone know what a "Double Load" could be? The reverse is blank.  |

Total guess here but maybe it was good for two games from the table. Two racks if you may.  |

If these were used in the tables it seems like they would be common but I cannot find any examples online. Nothing in Tokencatalog.

Why not just say Good for Two Plays, or Two Loads? Strange.

This seems like an older token. I did a google search and it says the first coin-operated laundromat started in 1947.

When search I see one reference to the billiard table company and another to an author who wrote a catalog of Butchers' supplies; Refrigeration and ice-making equipment; Hotel, bar and restaurant supplies. I doubt the latter would require a token.  I feel this token gives two plays on a billiard table, a load being one rack of balls (as chafemasterj referenced above). |
