The issue is that coin has been out there 55 years. It is damage that you are seeing. Most of its like was spent in a vending machine. The incuse lines are showing waves on the side of the channel. Indicating to me this is coin damage. Just a spender.

What I see are scratches and what appears to be a hit displacing the metal. All PMD

That was my first impression as well but On the other side of the coin where the lines are there is a slight raised kinda line as well and I asked mostly due to missing part of the trunk of the tree I was wondering what would case that kind of damage . Thanks guys!

You could see the line coming from the letter B in liberty and goes back up on L of liberty but it's not marked just slightly raised.

Thanks for the help I guess I was curious if this would be done by a vending machine or intentionally done to it?

When you mentioned raised, it is incuse in the center forming a trench and the sides are raised, because the metal was moved and like plowed snow, it has to go somewhere. Also what tells me it is PSD, is the wave that is formed when metal is pushed: ))_new_2020_AAA.jpg) Not matter how it is damaged, it is still a damaged coin.

Make a copy of the images or thread for your records. You can copy the images by themselves. Copy the thread and put is on a word page or use the take a screen shot and save it that way. Copy it now, or you will regret it later when you wish you had saved it at the time.

I used to save them to a word page. I have over 100 pages of information. Which I no longer use. Tou can copy the test, but not the images to post. Someday I need to make a cheat sheet on my CoopHome page to have a quick reference to the information titles and the full link devices, to keep as a quicker reference. Daily adding the questions/subjects for this page. Soon it will be up to page 8. Almost 50 questions/links for just page '7'.
