Hello again :) Was just curious, what do you guys think of this one? It's my favorite so far. I like the red or red brown? tone and it's in somewhat decent shape.

I tried to post 2 pics of each side with some different lighting. Not sure if it's too much glare there? Did my best.

Cheers all!

While a 1966 Lincoln Wheat cent would be fantastic, this is a Lincoln Memorial cent. The images are a little fuzzy, but your enthusiasm is wonderful. Search as many coins as you can. You'll be surprised at how many fresh coins are still in circulation.

Cool. While building your knowledge of coins, continue to refine your coin photography skills. It can be frustrating and complicated, but a little practice and developing a consistent approach will pay off. Keep at it!

OMG @Yokozuna, you are so correct. I was so use to seeing all of my dad's American Lincoln Wheat Pennies collection that I didn't even notice that this lonely one is the only Memorial penny he had.

Too bad it wasn't a 66 Wheat but still my favorite :)

Thank you for all the tips. I need to get batteries for my better camera and hopefully that helps next time too.

Welcome! Don't fret your imaging skills, they'll improve. That 1966 would be a great Whitman (or other) album piece. I still have my old blue folder from the mid-seventies, intact as assembled. Should you do like-wise in the years ahead, this coin will exceed any market value.

Well yes Dearborn, it is becoming my new obsession indeed! And now that I've learned the difference between the modern Lincoln cents and the older Wheat cents, I found some more memorials, to my surprise. I guess I hadn't looked at all the reverse's yet.

I took some better pics of my 66 too and I'm wondering if you guys can help me determine if this is in fact a DDO?

I did zooms with arrows.

Cheers!

Thanks a lot @just carl. It sucks that we don't have pennies anymore here in Canada. I likely would not have a nice collection of these American wheat and memorial cents if if weren't for my dad leaving them to me. Cheers!
