This coin looks fake to me, is it? It's 17mm and weighs 2.4 grams.

The silliest part is it probably costs more to make this fake then buying a real one of this emperor in this condition for strike. So unless these were mass produced in a factory assembly like for jewellery the whole situation makes no sense financially. Clearly fake of course. (Thinking about it, maybe these were made at a time recently when there was not a flood of real late Roman ancients. So maybe it made sense that way to make them.)

These fakes were added to uncleaned coin lots and sold at premium uncleaned prices.

@maridvnvm, that's exactly where this coin came from. An old lot (2001) of uncleaned coins.
