Hey folks thinking about buying this coin, but the more I look at it the more the scratches on the obverse look like a cleaning. They're asking $40 dollars for it, which I think is reasonable if genuine.

Let me know what you all think.

It doesn't look cleaned to me . Maybe just rubbed with a dry cloth ,mint luster is not disturbed as it would if it was cleaned . It's a nice MS coin that has been slightly mishandled . MS-64

I'm leaning more towards die polish lines. I see a couple lines that extend right to the base of the letters of IGWT.

Probably die polishing lines, but either way I'm not a fan of the look here.

probably MS64 but the die polishing lines on the obverse are pretty prominent. they could be enhanced though from the lighting

Thanks for the info folks, it still has the luster which made my gut say genuine, but the prominence of the polishing lines especially many traveling in the same direction made me think twice. Learning slowly to ID cleaned coins.
