What are you even talking about? The earlobe looks perfectly fine, design elements on coins don't form out of mid air, there isn't a "chain link" on his throat or anywhere else, and you post threads like this daily. Not everything you see is an error, and you should teach yourself what an error actually is instead of relying on authority figures to do the work you can easily do yourself. Go read a book or something.

It looks more like a contact mark. I don't see any rounded doubling or increase in size of the earlobe.

In most cases, doubled dies are well documented within a few years of the date the coin was issued. The coin is question is not a match for any of the examples given. It can't be just a similarity that make a coin a Doubled Die, for it to be an example of a known doubled die, it would need to match exactly. While it's possible to find a new DDO, it's rare in the extreme to do so. Doubled die coins are very popular and untold numbers of collectors are pouring over every issue of every coin looking for them. I only know of one or two that have only one example known.

I'm not sure what you are referring to by "Chain Link," but please explain this term.

Lastly, please remember that the CCF is made up of collectors with years, or decades in many cases, of experience in identifying this type of variety. No one here gets paid for replying to a post or is required to do so. It's done out of a spirit of friendliness and a desire to help others. When one of the CCF members are attacked or called names for attempting to help, it can be very upsetting. Please, continue to post and ask questions, but try to relax and give everyone time to answer. If you don't agree with us when we do answer, it's okay to question why, but don't question that members intelligence.

Like a splash mark from the contact. Is there any hint of gray in the trench? If so it is damage on the coin. What makes me suspicious is the reflection. You would see that on a damaged coin. But if it were a doubled lobe, then there would be no reflection.

I need to clear one thing up when I said chain around his throat what I meant was a chain like appearance. I know that wasn't a chain around his throat.

How about all those contact marks all over that aren't reflections. And why the hollowed out space around the ear lobe? And to me it looks about as good as an example as other ones I've seen. And I don't think I questioned anyone's intelligence I didn't tell the man to go read a book reread his comment

Jeez.

Chip Chatters I find it exhausting reading your posts. You continually send in bad to horrible pics of coins asking vague questions. The resposnes you are given have been helpful to someone who wants to learn about errors and varieties. Yet you discount those who are trying to help you.

Not every coin you find is going to be an error or variety, its quite the opposite. They are rare. Thats what drives this hobby. Searching through thousands of coins, and maybe finding one or two that look "interesting". Then doing the research to see if you have something there. All the while learning more and more along the way.

Forum members freely share what they have learned through their research, especially to those who want to learn.

If you truly wish to learn about this hobby, follow the suggestions given to you. Do some research, read through old posts, practice taking clear pics, prior to posting.

The fourm members who respond to your posts are here to help, but only if you want the help. So try not to be so combative.
