¢Found in friends sock draw. Photos hopefully show that some scratches (something) were made between on the planchet before the date and lettering were stamped on the coin. Should I get this error certified? Which is the best certifying company for erro€€€rs>

. That is PMD=post mint damage. Looks like it is from a coin counting/wrapping/vending machine. It looks like it is behind the numbers because the numbers are incuse.

True, scratches go over the inset lettering even though some of the pictures make it seem like they go behind raised letters.

It happens a lot on the quarters are the sealing part of the tube can affect these devices.
