Can't find any reference to this pattern on the obverse. It's the curved line running from the top of the head to the bottom edge. It is not dirt and does not rub off.

Note the gray areas on your coin. The plating has been removed, probably from damage. This one is probably already beginning to experience zinc rot. If not yet, it will. Spender.

Possibly a linear plating bubble but no matter what, get rid of before it rots away.
