On the other post, everything is correct, except the reference to a woody. This one is IMO a better coin and a woody. It also looks like both have the same Dbl Date issue. what do you guys think? Can it get a good MS grade and is it a candidate for grading? sorry about the misleading suggestion yesterday. Got it mixed up. Thank you all H
Yes, a woody with Die Deterioration Doubling. It's my understanding that woodies were the result of an insufficient rinse or improper rinse at the Mint.
Wonderful example of a woody, MS 63 BN perhaps 64. Is there a slight die rotation on this coin? I ask because the woody grain seems to have a slight difference in direction from the rev. compared to the obv. Regardless great coin.
