Question ... If theres any Federal Reserve Bank bills ($1-$2-$5-$10-$20-$50-$100) of Minnesota from 1914 come with seven serial numbers or nine? Thanks .

They exist with 7 numbers, but I don't think 9.

Thanks for your answer. Do you know what years and why they make it 7 not 8 ....both $5 bills from 1914 MN: one has 7 numbers and the second has 8 numbers. Why?

(Please do not use all caps in your text. It is considered impolite on most forums. )


Notes from this era did not use zeros to fill in the empty spaces on lower serial numbers (see below). So, in your hypothetical example, there would be many, many notes with 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 serial numbers.

First of all, STOP SHOUTING
Thanks. The serial numbering goes from 1 to 99999999. After that it rolls the suffix letter. In other words, your note I7144104A would run up to serial number I99999999A and then roll over to I1B. Notes of this era have all kinds of different letter/number combinations used.
