I was sitting here wondering if there are alternative world auction sites. I know ebay has sites in alot of countries. But I am looking for more of a site that would be their competitor.

For example in New Zealand they have an auction site called TradeMe.

Does anyone know of any others?

I want to expand more of my world collection and I am not the greatest fan of ebay

I have bought from several internet listing sites with world coins. What is your interest? I'm collecting world coins minted by the US mints (60 countries, 1700 coins) I would be willing to share them via PM/e-mail rather than post the names in CCF Forum.

tepritts, are they auction sites or just online dealers. I am looking for auction site in other countries besides the US. And it would be even better if they are in English.

As for my interest, I an OFEC++ person. I not only want 1 from every country, I want as many different KM #'s as I can get.

No true auctions sites. Several are just online dealers. A couple are dealers that send out monthly list of coins with the option to make offers or pay the listed price. Another is an E-Bay seller that lives in my area, meet him at shows, and look through his display at a local antique shop.

If your interested I could send you a list of my extra's, which are nothing special ie cheap world coins taking up space that I would gladly give to an interested collector.

I am currently still organizing my world collection so I know what I have. It will be a few months before I am done.

I have had very good luck with a site called delcampe http://www.delcampe.com I believe it is a French site but is mostly in English as well. I have had no bad sellers and bought about 20 or so coins. The number of bidders is low, in fact I have always won the auction with a single bid. I managed to find quite a few of my 1963 collection that I could not find on ebay!

Good Luck

While it is actually based in the US, you could try V-Auctions:

There are typically not many choices and most of the auctions are for ancients, but the sellers can be trusted.
