Cartainly not a silver denarius. It is a Bronze Antoniniaus (double denarius) as described on the flip. There was very little silver left in the coinage during this period. RCV means Roman COinas and their Values, a general book on roman coinage with quite generic references. The remainder of the numbers may have meant something to the previous owner.
The coin would be dated to c. September A.D. 268 - end A.D. 269 based on current thinking so the dating information on the flip isn't too far off.
Additional references would be RIC 34, Normanby 690, RIC temp #274
