1972 dime out of tolerance.
I have similar dimes in worst condition weighing much heavier.
I can post them to prove that this dime is just outside tolerance from inception.
What is your view ?

It is .06g out from the minimum tolerance.
Possibly a thinner planchet or from wear but not really
off enough to warrant a premium.

Slightly out of tolerance or not, it has no premium.

It is a thin planchette, but not in the best of condition.

This is the pictures of the edge as requested by John!

Here are the figures for the +/- on the weights:
1972-Dime-Out-Of-Tolerance.
Only gold is actually checked for exact weights. Silver, not sure on though. But on precious metals that is where the weight difference actually counts.

Year ago they added the reeds to the edge of the coin on silver coins. Why?

Looking at the lettering near the rim of IN GOD WE TRUST and UNITED STA, I think you might have a better argument for a tapered planchet than a thin-rolled planchet. That's just awfully close to normal for the whole coin to be thin-rolled, but a reasonable weight loss for a minor tapered planchet.
