I'm not seeing any doubling on the date. I think your looking at signs of a late die stage.

There wasnt much DD on the date with the DDR listings that I researched what about you? @IsThisAnything

I see MD=machine doubling on the reverse. What does N/date mean?

Well are you thinking DDO or DDR? Those are two different things, so you wouldn't see doubling on the date for DDR because it's not on the reverse.

I'm thinking a normal coin. The die wear that you are seeing was there when the coin was struck, along with the Machine Doubling on the reverse. The coin has been in circulation for 54 years. It was struck on the year I graduated High school. So it has lost it luster, much like myself. But still maintaining its integrity. Not a DDO or DDR, but special in that it was not damaged much along the way. (I guess I can say the same thing also) But helped to assist in helping others, buy doing the job it was created to do. Think of all the people it made happy by doing it job for the past 54 years. So it is kind of special. Always had a happy customer. Thanks for your service. Your friend the Copper nickel:
