I'm thinking a normal coin. The die wear that you are seeing was there when the coin was struck, along with the
Machine Doubling on the reverse. The coin has been in circulation for 54 years. It was struck on the year I graduated High school. So it has lost it luster, much like myself. But still maintaining its integrity. Not a
DDO or
DDR, but special in that it was not damaged much along the way. (I guess I can say the same thing also) But helped to assist in helping others, buy doing the job it was created to do. Think of all the people it made happy by doing it job for the past 54 years. So it is kind of special. Always had a happy customer. Thanks for your service. Your friend the Copper nickel:

Although we are of the same substance, I was snatched up early, but you continued to serve. Thanks again.
