Hello friends has anyone seen a 1988 D Lincoln Cent with and eight looking like this? If so what could cause this ?

Guessing a circulation hit may have pushed some metal out into the field.

Hm, could also be a plating blister or a small, odd-shaped die chip. At any rate, not significant enough to add any value.
