Happy WA Day!

The original U.S. States Quarters inspired the
Australian States and Territories 50 Cents, and the
Australian 20 Cents States and Territories coins - of which the OP's coin is an example.

The Canadians came up with the idea first.

That would be the set from 1992.
I still need Yukon and Alberta to complete that set. :(

Actually, the US had the idea back in the 1960s.

You are welcome.

Commems has many "what if" related posts. Check out his "commems collection" series of topics. It is American and Canadian focused, but good stuff if you are curious!

I celebrated by buying a pack of Mrs Macs Pies at my supermarket ($4.99 for 4), they were quite tasty - noticed they come from WA.
