Hello, I found this quarter while going through some rolls of quarters. I asked a friend who is a dealer, but couldn't find anything on this, and suggested checking on the forum. I don't know if it is an error or what it is. The possible error is an indent around the "D" mint mark on the front of the coin.
I don't seen any other damage other than some scratches on the surface of the coin. If someone could shed some light on it, I would greatly appreciate it.

We've seen these before, most likely an over-polished die to remove a die clash (area of the mint mark correlates with the olive leaf on the reverse design) Check out maddieclashes.com

to CCF good luck on future finds, have fun and keep asking when needed....
