This thread will be mostly for Silver stackers but also for some new members who are trying to fill holes with low grade Silver coins . Now this hasn't happened yet at least I don't think it has , What if the Chinese or any others started to counterfeit 90% junk silver . Spot Silver keeps inching up; We have all seen this . If they can produce a 1964 U.S. Quarter with perfection the way they do with high end coins then that can destroy the Hobby and Silver Stackers for a long time .

They were faking normal "mutilated" coins be redeemed by the Mint, until the Mint caught on.

I don't think the ring, look, and feel/conductivity of real silver can be faked. So long as you're familiar with silver in hand this shouldn't be a problem

I've seen a sheet (~12) of fake Morgans so they are out there.

oh yeah there definitely out there thankfully I only have to deal with fake 1921 Morgans and 1922-1923 Peace dollars as that normally passes the understanding of newbies Aussie collectors who want to have a US 1 dollar silver coin in their collections.

T-Bob I still don't think they will try with half dollars yet! or even quarters as a strange size outside the US not saying they can't do it, I just think it much easier to make Benjamin obvious it would be spent with real ones. At the moment I think unless melt quadruples @120 USD an ounce I doubt it and that to say that nickle copper or steel will stay the same.
Rest in Peace
