Hey all Any thoughts on this raised (die crack?)? It almost looks like the start of another wheat stalk. I included a picture of a light tin foil impression of the reverse. The last letter in ''americ'A'' looks like it was affected by the raised portion (or PMD.).

Thanks for looking.

I used photoshop to select the raised crack (as best I could), made a copy of it, and overlayed the copy on top of the right wheat stalk. I only adjusted the copy's exposure, color, and opacity, and rotated it in line with the stalk. Looks oddly similar...

Agree it's damage. The metal is pushed downward causing the raised line.

Hmmmm. Not sure I agree. I don't see the metal flow you are talking about. Not even on the tin. It is odd!

@vestigewolf it's just damage. You can see how the metal has been displaced from the divot below the "stem" to where the supposed "stem" is. This is just a combination of PMD and Pareidolia.

I'm not so sure. I am surely a novice at this and am learning more every day. But other than the scratch below the raised lines in question, I don't see any other area around the raised lines that shows a big enough divot to cause PMD damage, and it happens to match fairly well to a wheat stalk on the reverse, even the PCGS wheat reverse which matches pretty neatly as well...i always appreciate the input of course, will set the coin aside...many thanks for looking.
