All the 1968 cents even proofs look like that with the devices into the rim. On the head it looks like coin wrapper damage. It's been the wild probably all its like. Just a spender. No premium for this one, except copper melt.

you said coin wrapper damage I'm not sure how paper can do that to a coin it is like a piece is missing my picture probably doesn't really show that though

It is the sealer on the wrapper closer that damages these coins:

Coop has the point. the wrap has Sulphur and others substances which do not help the coin. The wrap also will accumulate the humidity.
