Looks okay to me. At first I thought Securitas looked a bit "soapy" but the obverse flow lines look good and imagery sharp. It's struck. Maybe a worn reverse die? Handle with care. Might be fragile given the crack.

The way I feel about if a coin is fake is to follow the money. So if a person was asked to make that coin in that condition, imagine the process and how nearly impossible it would be. And you are making it with a chip and crack where a person can see the inside and one of a kind. Now perhaps a Julius Caesar a person might attempt that, but probably hours of work would be involved. So then you finally sell it and in an open auction like the one below with such issues of a not rare coin you are lucky to get $20 before fees.

Plus Gordian is known to have very nice pieces and very poor authentic pieces so you can expect coins like that exist in that known universe of all his coins. You see that quality in a coin from a time when only good quality coins were coming from an emperor and you wonder in that case. Like a coin of Gallienus you expect to see some horrible but very real coins but never Augustus and if you do you have a fouree or ancient counterfeit. Always try to know the universe of the coin series you are looking for and searching past sold items on ebay is a great way to see what they sold for once you ignore the buy it now high priced ones people should not have paid so much for.

Thanks for all the feedback guys much appreciated I thought it was genuine I only second guessed myself as I know many fakes are a sides stuck together and the way it was chipped called me to double check that.

Louis "follow the money is a very good example!
