Trying to learn as I go if this is anything interesting. And you can't reply to a certain person or add images into the replies? Never really been on these forums just to browse

What does the reverse look like? There is a look of a MAD die on the obverse, but not offset enough for a premium. (MAD= Mis-Aligned-Die) The Hammer die was not centered over the anvil die, thus make it look off center on one side of the coin. When the miss alignment allows the devices to fall over the edge, then they are collectable:

I agree. It looks like a MAD. A picture of the reverse is needed to identify like the coop said.

I'll get a better picture of the back soon, walked to store to pick up dinner. The lead on one side is closer to one side?

It looks to match the front. Camera doesn't do well, but does have the same outer to it

It's possible that this was an Encased Coin that has been removed from the surround and returned to circulation. If so, it's just damage and not an error. Better photos will help.

You want to avoid any contact with the surfaces of the coins you collect. The oils, salts and acids in your skin can leave fingerprints on the coins that, once they are visible, can never be removed. They can decrease the value and collectability of rare coins. I use Cotton Coin Inspection Gloves and hold coins by the edges only.

. My first thought is a former Encased Cent as well. In future post please crop photos properly and properly rotate coin/photo before posting.

Check to see if the edge of the coin is a partial collar? Note how the rim is moved to the L on Liberty? The reverse rims seems weak. On an Encased Cent, the rims are flattened. Thus my question about the edge of the coin.

As soon as I get home I'll get better pic of edge. When I crop pictures from my phone the size stays above 2-3mb , if I don't crop then I can choose a smaller size image? It's why I haven't cropped the images. 🤷 #8205;#9794;#65039;

I tried to get it a angle, there is a tiny high lip then a step down that's the wide area and then to the base if that makes sense. But there is a ridge , small but there .

On the reverse you are looking at the rim that reduces coin wear. On the edge, that is the outside edge where the proper place to hold a coin is. On the outside edge, the edge if it is a partial collar will not be flat.
