This is a recent acquisition. I think it is Chinese, but not 100% sure. Could be a charm, token or other? I am not really sure. It is 40mm in diameter and weighs 19.2g. Doesn't appear to me to be a modern fantasy. As usual, any thoughts regarding attribution, age, rarity, translation of the characters, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

The bottom picture does somewhat resemble one of the Chinese charms.
Could be a copy, or tourist imitation as a guess.

If those are Chinese characters, they just don't come to mind when I think over the countless words I've seen.
Maybe they are "stylized" so they do not appear as one would expect.
I just don't recognize them.
Hoping someone else can explain them.
