While neither the lamination and the RPM are that significant, I thought it was a neat combination.   |

Definitely a very minor RPM, but the "lam" looks like it could just be surface gunk. Did you give it an acetone soak? Cool find!

Indeed from that photo it does look like gunk. However it's more of a dispersed lamination that you commonly find on older cents. I did a few tests to determine if it was an actual lam, such as using a toothpick and looking at it from multiple angles. My photo isn't the best that's for sure, so yes I thought it was gunk at first too.
The minor RPMs are always a neat find, but they're quite common as you know. Probably no listing for it, but I'll still hang onto it either way.

Some may never be listed, but I still place them into tubes, just in case they do get listed.

@Siver, I think I know what you see. The photos are not the best in the word. Yes something happened on the president face. By this photos sorry I can 't pronounce on de-lam or others failures of alloy. What keep me attention it is the ear of the president.

I do the exact same thing you do Coop, in fact, I believe you taught me to do such.
Silviosi, thank you for the input. I will get better photos so that the coin can be properly evaluated soon. (I am currently on a road trip through the Northwest).

No problem. Hope will be very nice trip, Northwest has superb environment and places. Coop do not laugh, him just say the coin do not has to much value, but a keeper; me I am curious about the ear and the material.

Thank you! It has been very beautiful! We visited Mount Saint Helens and it was gorgeous! Here's a photo:  Oh, and I think you misunderstood Coop. He was simply explaining how the RPM on my coin was minor, yet worth keeping. Meaning that it most likely isn't listed yet, but he puts them into tubes just in case they do become listed in the future (I do the same). He was not laughing at me or telling me that the coin was worthless. Anyway, hopefully these photos are more clear:    That ear that you mentioned, I think is just an effect of the die wearing down. Meaning that specific device was losing detail over time. It might also be effected from die polishing.  |

For de-lam Yes, it is a de-lam. Your last photos convince me. I see all the factors of de-lam (de-lam or exfoliation mean LAM on your terms).
Lamination is union of two materials, de-lamination it is separation on the molecular surface of the material structure which it is the correct terms.
