Found CRHing. The die markers match as far as I can tell. It has the die crack on the skull, and a die crack on the back of the shield. I've forgotten whether or not the mintmark position is still considered a die marker post-1990. If it is not considered a die marker, then this is most certainly a match. However if it is a die marker, then it could maybe be WDDO-001, but I'm not sure.

I would also like to add that there is indeed some Machine Doubling going on, making it a little bit more difficult to identify.

I see the doubling but I am not sure if it is DDO. Waiting for the coop. I think it could be.

Thank you oldfordman.
I am indeed looking forward to Coop's input, if he has the time to give it of course.

Mintmark location cannot be used as a die marker 1990 on.
Doubling does look remarkably similar. Can you get a picture of the crack on the shield? A good clear pic of the crack could easily confirm or debunk a match since Wexler has an image to compare to.

Thank you for confirming that for me Tanman. I believe it to be a match for two reasons. One, the DDO-001 and this coin both have a similar style of die crack on the back of the shield, it's cracked and flaked. The second reason is that another die marker for the DDO-001 is a die crack on the forehead of Abe. My coin has the same die crack.

The photos are a little too shadow-y in that area, but the die crack doesn't appear to match...
I'm looking at the area above the P. On WDDO-001 the crack clearly changes direction going from E-W to NE-SW directly above the P. The crack does change direction on your coin, but it looks like it does further to the left of the P.

Thank you for the input.
I've found that the die cracks on the upper left of the shield aren't always reliable, as they change quite often as the die ages, and they become more severe.
At this point I'm going off the fact that there's a die crack on the skull in the exact same place as DDO-001, can't be sure of course.
And sorry about the images, this coin sadly is one of those shield cents that causes an abnormal amount of glare, so it's extremely difficult to get a good photo.

Quote: Well they shouldn't move... They become more severe, the die crack becomes larger, until the die is retired. Meaning a die crack would look different if it was either given time to deteriorate. You know this I'm sure, just wanted to restate it. I think for the time being, the best match is DDO-001. After reviewing the photos from Wexler's once again, the doubling itself does not fully match. WDDO-001 has a curved top, while mine does not. Either it's DDO-001, or it's a completely new listing. But once again, thanks Tanman for your assistance. You're a spectacular member here and have greatly helped me in the past, and you've done so once again.
