Looks Like Some Big Ebay Sellers Don't Follow Ebay Rules

drmenard Valued Member United States 66 Posts	Posted 06/27/2021 11:50 am I was looking at some Morgan silver dollars on ebay. The seller says they are taken from a original roll. The coin looks like it could be a 65 or 66. But then down in the listing it says"Please note this is a representative photo for a multi-quantity listing and all coins are comparable in quality and condition."... Now these coins are RAW not TPG. Before I read that I was confused because it said so many of the coins were already sold. So I asked the seller if this was the picture of the coin being sold. Got no answer.So I just let it go. Then after being concerned about so many counterfeit coins on ebay ruining the hobby I was looking at ebay rules. In there rules it says if a coin is not TPG then "Must include photos of the front and back of the actual item for sale (stock photos are not allowed) "... Why have rules if we don't follow them. Let me ask you, if I have 150 of the exact same Lincoln Cent RPM in roughly the same condition, should I be expected to make 150 listings? No, that's completely unreasonable. Much in the same, if this seller has a large quantity of UNC morgans, and as long as they are in the grades he describes them to be, I have no issue with what he is doing. drmenard Valued Member United States 66 Posts	Posted 06/27/2021 4:00 pm But if I were bidding on a coin you thought to be 65 or 66 and when I got the coin it was at best a 64 because the seller took a picture of the best coin of the lot. then you might think you got your moneys worth but not the coin you thought you were bidding on. If you were bidding on a coin for $10 or $20 is not the same as a few hundred dollarsor more. Report this Post to the Staff
