Interesting, that auction is actually more honest than the current one. Wonder if he's just got a stack of these things and is playing with the ads to get the best ratio of dollars to likelihood of being pulled.

That is a decent-looking fake. What's the deal, mintmark cut off another coin and stuck on somehow?

Are the bidders unaware that the auction is for a counterfeit 1909 S VDB or are they knowingly taking a chance that the coin may be genuine?

Yep, and the funny thing is...that mm was only used in 1928! This should raise an immediate red flag. Its authenticity is an impossibility.
