@gper, looks like it was bent and subsequently partially straightened. Still, there are some details remaining. Any chance for better lit pics? This is the best I can do with your current set:

It's practically impossible to take better pictures. The reverse is almost completely unnoticeable. Since it's in my hands I haven't interfered at all

Also looks like it was probably clipped. Could be a legend starting with + S O (or S G ). Then there are a few more letters visible at 8:00 maybe E R I or E A I ? Style of lettering might put it in 16th century? Edit: I can find this style of crown and letters C R S on larger copper Sweden coins of 17th c. Maybe this is a starting point? https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces22641.html

No, not Swedish I think. There is some resemblance with Swedish 17-18th century coins, but it is not quite the right style. (And I checked my catalogue of Swedish coins just to make sure .)

Ok good to know. Also I think that the two letters bracketing the crown are P and S rather than R and S. @gpe, I see that you are from Portugal--can you please share a little more information on how you got this coin? For example did you dig it up in your garden or by it from a dealers, etc.

I bought this coin from a French seller, I think, a few years ago. Unfortunately I don't keep data about the purchase. From the searches carried out, from Portuguese to various European broadcasting entities, the greatest similarity that came to me was an issue from the kingdom of Sicily during the Aragonese domination, but made of copper and not billions or silver. I can also add that it does not seem to me, somehow, to be Portuguese currency.

Yes, I see in Numista a 2 Piccioli with a crown like this. I will take a dive into CNI and see if I can get closer.

I'm come back to this identification, with a new search! Probaly a Hungarian denar - Ulászló I.
