I am still in the process of re-organizing my fathers one cent collection. Mostly wheats for several rolls of mems. So my question is, do you roll memorial cents? Going through bank rolls, I am separating out the 1982 and before from the 1982 and newer. I have just been throwing the 60s, 70s and early 80s into a jar. Should I be rolling them by year? My father has about 10 rolls of pristine 1964D cents. I am sure they would grade somewhere in the 60 range. I am sure the value of them is mostly bullion, being 95 percent copper. So should they be stored in rolls or is a jar just fine?

I think it all depends on your purpose. If you are keeping the coppers strictly for bullion just throw them in a jar or bag. If it was me that is what I would do, but I would pull out the pristine coppers and roll those babies up as you never know how the demand will change in the future.

If you choose to roll them for long term storage don't use the paper ones that you get from the bank they contain sulfur and other chemicals that will damage the coins.Go to your local coin shop and buy some plastic tubes that are long term storage safe, they should cost around 40 cents each. John1

The 64D's are worth more than bulliion if they are BU. They go for $5-6 shipped on ebay.

I highly recommed some coin tubes too.

For those I'd buy the square plastic "tubes". Here's an example:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Lot-of-25-Squar...ts_W0QQitemZ a href= https://www.coincommunity.com/go/link.asp?target=https://www.ebay.com/itm/-/370131034393 target= _blank rel= nofollow 370131034393 /a QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item a href= https://www.coincommunity.com/go/link.asp?target=https://www.ebay.com/itm/-/370131034393 target= _blank rel= nofollow 370131034393 /a &_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72:1205%7C66:2%7C65:12%7C39:1%7C240:1318%7C301:1%7C293:1%7C294:50

They're about 50 cents each and better than the round clear plastic ones. Some of the older, clear round tubes are not safe for long term storage and are easily cracked and broken.

0.59 after shipping, pretty good deal because I pay 0.99 for these at my local shop.

However, if you plan on using them as a tamborine in a band, they will make more sounds in a glass jar.
