I am not a fan of digital currency either, annoying and destroys the fun of using and collecting currency. Not so bad in NZ, where all of our circulation money is as dull as dishwater (2 commem 50c coins now rare as hens teeth), but in Australia with all its circulating commemoratives - digital money would be a death sentence!

Nearly every town here in NZ will have a farmers market or boot sale every month if not weekly which predominantly uses only coinage but in the same token it only costs $15 to hire a eftpos machine for the day that is wireless for card transactions.
