I was curious as to what sites our members use for online auctions & sales, aside from ebay (and CCF of coarse).

Thanks.

For auctions I use Great Collections and Proxibid. But like anything else, be selective. Only bid with good, clear, expandable photos. Don't bid in auctions where auctioneer can see all max-prebids. When bidding, always add in buyers premium and shipping.getting a $50 coin in an auction for $40 is not really a deal if it costs $55 with buyers premium and shipping. But with patience and a good eye, I have gotten some very nice coins for well under retail.

There are lots of very reputable professional dealers, a lot of them have shop fronts as well, that offer some of their stock on line.

If you are buying a big ticket numismatic item on line,
know who the dealer is before submitting a bid.

Just remember that the luck one person could or may have with an on line dealer may well not work for you. And remember that just because someone says they use a certain dealer on line, doesn't mean that they really do. And another thing is a dealer may give great deals to get started then revert to a real crook or similar. Always remember that what you read on line anywhere may or may not be true. So many times people just repeat something they've heard and have no idea if true or not.
Myself, I never use any on line sources for coins or anything of value. I much prefer a coin show or coin store long before I'd ever take a chance on line. Might be OK for some, just not me. I prefer to see what I'm buying.

I've been trying to find a coin dealer I have seen set up at shows, but can't. Anyone know Stan Surrell or Sorrell from the NY/CT area?

I have had luck with:

Bob reis (www.anythinganywhere.com), and
Frank Robinson (www.fsrcoin.com)

I dealt with both last year, and past dealings over 10 years.
Rest in Peace

The best online dealer that I know of is, Jack H. Beymer . He has a tremendous inventory and also deals out of his store in California .

Jack Beymer has a great store in Santa Rosa, CA. I have been there a number of times.

Jack is a great guy and has a good sense of humor!
